Visual Search Pony

Visual Search Pony enables accurate and quick search for duplicate images and video files by analyzing the visual content, rather than file size, format and resolution. Found duplicates are checked automatically, so you can remove them instantly.

1. Program needs more sorting options of found duplicates. 2. Icon adjustment tool to make the pictures larger or smaller. Complete list selection tool, so that you dont have to go through the total list picture by picture.

add a slider for sensibility

While comparing two folders, one with original pics and one with the same pics but watermarked (small text), VSP thinks they are the same. With a slider adding the possibility to evaluate with a higher sensibility, the result could be "no doubles"...

Initial image search is pretty slow compared to the one done by visipics tool suggested by someone in the forum. Have to crank up the speed!

have file size (and potentially other attribute) information displayed within the list of duplicates to help selection.

At present there's little to inform the choice of which of the duplicates to delete.

Have it support more image formats, including PSD, DNG, CR2, and NEF

Photographers represent a large potential market for an application like this. Many photographers use RAW formats such as CR2, NEF and DNG. And of course PSD Photoshop file format is used by a much broader segment.

I would like to be able to enter one or more wildcards for files that should not be used for comparison, such as th_* for thumbnail versions which I have in abundance in the same folders as their full-size versions.

I have a huge and complex folder tree that contains nearly half a million pictures. Half of those are regular jpgs and the other half are thumbnail versions which are prefixed with a single three-character prefix. I would like to be able to search...

Allow the user to select the folder that contains the 'keeper' files.

I sometimes end up with sets of folders that contain the same files (pulled from cameras or SD cards at different times after system rebuilds) so I end up with duplicate images in these folders. VSP automatically wants to keep the files with the...

See a Unique Icon for the program and have the icon actually placed on the desktop during installation when the box is checked.

On installation, there is an option box to check to have an icon placed on the desktop. This isn't done. In going to the install directory and moving the program icon to the desktop, it used an existing icon within the Win7 system. When I...

set the program to scan picures and then automatically switch to scanning videos so I can leave it on overnight

Scans are slow, this way I could kill two birds with one stone (if they finish in one night).

Preview should not come up when checking the 'tick' boxes, slows the process down greatly. Add a 'select all' and a 'deselect all' button.

Allow users to select how many CPU cores to utilize, for faster searching.

You should be able to: 1) Utilize multiple CPU cores for faster searching and processing, and 2) Be able to specify how many cores you want to devote to the program. Having a 64-bit version of the program would speed things up as well.

Improve the look of the GUI

The Graphicc Interface looks old and broing. At the very least provide skins so that we can choose the style of the GUI. Offer these up for free to any licence holder.

Allow the duplicate search initially to be filtered by extension,, also a more informative output list and a more selective method of deleting files, there is too little control offered to the user at the moment.
