See a Unique Icon for the program and have the icon actually placed on the desktop during installation when the box is checked.

On installation, there is an option box to check to have an icon placed on the desktop. This isn't done. In going to the install directory and moving the program icon to the desktop, it used an existing icon within the Win7 system. When I attempted to change the icon, it said there were no icons in the install directory - this is probably why no icon was initially placed on the desktop. If you created a unique icon and included it with the program, it'd probably place it on the desktop as intended.
