Hi,
Appart from it's "cleaning up" function, it may have another use also.
I'm thinking of what is said on http://visualsearchpony.com/content-identification/ ...
Supposing that you have access to the original picture/movie (whatever format it's in), the program should be able to spot a file that has been "tampered" with, e.g. hidden messages or executable code. Of course it would not distinguish between the original and the "fixed" file but it might well point out that there is a difference in content even though you can't see it with the naked eye nor draw conclusions from differences in filesize etc.
So, might it function as an security tool of some sort?.. As it stands it may be a first step...
Greetz,
Pat.
